Michaels, the Unusual NT, Weak 2's and Preempts (1 Monday each topic)

You will learn:
Michaels and the Unusual NT
When the opponents open the bidding and you have a decent one suited hand, it is easy to overcall.
However, what do you do when you have a 2 suited hand? Do you overcall, and if so, which suit?
This class will show you how to bid with 2 suited hands.
You will also learn what to do when it is your partner that shows the 2 suited hand.

Weak 2 Bids and Preempts
What are these bids?
When do you open a weak 2 bid, or preempt?
When partner does open a weak bid, when and how do you respond?
When the opponents do this to you, how do you and your partner deal with it?
What does the vulnerability have to do with this?
Can you make a weak bid opposite partner's opening bid?

If you do bid, what does your partner do? Or, your partner bids! What should you do?
Should you bid before their auction ends?

3rd & 4th seat Openers:
What is a 3 rd seat light opener?
Is a 4 th seat opener the same?
What is a weak 2 or Preempt in 3 rd seat?
Is it the same in 4 th seat?
What does the vulnerability have to do with this?
How do we find out if partner has opened light?
Are new suits forcing still?

        This will be a total review of the basics of Bidding, Declarer Play and Defense.

        This is NOT for beginners.
        It is for Novice/Intermediate players who want to solidify their knowledge of the basics.

Two or four students play pre-dealt hand on BBO (Bridge Base Online) with Gary or Corinne. 2-hour sessions $100US.

Do you want to improve your bidding skills but are too busy to take classes, or they just don't fit your available times?
Then try our homework program!
·        We will send you about 30-40 bidding problems by email.
·        Do it in your spare time, at your own speed.
·        You send back your answers.
·        We send you any corrections with explanations. At the same time, we will send you the next set of problems.
·        The cost for each set is $20US. You only pay for the sets you answer.

After you receive the answers you will tell us whether or not you want to continue.
