The recipients of the March charity money this year are ALMA and the SPA.

Weekly Tickle June 23, 2009

We are back from our wonderful holiday and thank our "Director in Loco," Dick Shaffer for the fine job he did for the month we were away!
I hope that should not be re-titled "Director of Loco(s)"

The ACBL has a Zero Tolerance Policy which will be in effect at The Bridge Studio:
If the Director is called to the table because a player has made uncalled for comments about another's lack of skill, or any other disparaging remark, there will a full board value reduced from his score for that game. A second infraction will result in a two week suspension from Studio play.
We hope we will not need to enforce this policy!

Congratulations to Margaret & Gif Moody who were first at the Studio for the World-Wide Pair Game on June 6.
They were also 8th overall in the WORLD against 5246 pairs playing at 258 clubs in 33 countries!
Well done also to all who competed. Our little group performed outstandingly!!

For the first time in several years, Gary will be offering a new beginners' bridge class in July!
The class, will start July 1 and run Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10am to noon.
If you have any interested friends, now is their chance to learn our fun game.

We were saddened to hear of the death of Bill Reid, a long-time San Miguel resident and bridge player.
He will be missed by all his friends.
